How we work

How we deliver.

  1. 01

    Data review

We take the approved stability booklet, hydrostatic and KN cross-curve tables, tank calibration and sounding tables, the general arrangement and cargo plan, and the class hull-girder limits. We tell you up front what is missing before any development starts.

  2. 02

    Digitisation & modelling

Tables are transcribed and cross-checked, the hull is built as a 3-D model, and every tank, space and pen is entered with its capacity, centres of gravity and free-surface moment.

  3. 03

    Validation against the booklet

Every loading condition in the approved booklet is re-run through the software and compared line by line — displacement, drafts, trim, GM, GZ areas. Agreement is pinned by an automated test suite so it cannot silently regress in a later release.

  4. 04

    Delivery & training

The application is installed on the vessel’s computers, the crew are trained on the workflow, and the Verification Report is issued for the superintendent and attending surveyor.

  5. 05

    Support & updates

Fixes and improvements reach the ship as small in-app delta updates — typically a few hundred kilobytes — verified by checksum, with rollback if anything fails.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What do you need from us to build a loading computer for our ship?

The approved Loading Manual and Intact Stability Information booklet, the hydrostatic and KN cross-curve tables, tank capacity and sounding / FSM tables, the general arrangement and cargo plan, and the class allowable shear force and bending moment tables. For a livestock carrier we also need the pen arrangement with areas and centres of gravity. We review the pack and confirm what is usable before quoting.

How do you prove the software matches our approved booklet?

The application generates a Verification Report on demand: a PASS / FAIL / N-A document listing every reference value it holds, its source, and the attained value it computes — written for a surveyor, superintendent or auditor to read alongside the booklet. On MV LEADER M the software reproduces all 19 approved booklet load cases, and that agreement is locked in by an automated test that runs on every release.

Is the software class-approved?

The software is developed and validated against your vessel’s already-approved stability documentation; it is not itself a class-type-approved loading instrument. Where a class-approved instrument is required we support the approval process and provide the calculation reference and verification documentation the society asks for.

Does it cover damage stability?

The current builds cover intact stability, the weather criterion, livestock criteria and still-water longitudinal strength. Damage stability and grounding are not included in the delivered versions — if you need them, they are scoped and quoted separately.

Do you build loading computers for container ships?

Yes. A container build adds a stowage planner to the loading computer: it imports the terminal’s BAPLIE or a booking list, plans the load port by port so no box is buried under cargo for a later port, and checks stability, longitudinal strength, lashing, dangerous goods and bridge visibility before the ship sails.

How are updates delivered to a ship at sea?

Through in-app delta updates. Only the changed files are downloaded — usually a few hundred kilobytes rather than a full reinstall — each verified against a SHA-256 manifest before and after replacement, with automatic rollback and a full-installer fallback if anything goes wrong.
